RESERVATIONS

Initially, I was completely against the reservations, privileges & quotas . I thought it was next to crime – a sin . As it not only denied the general folk to their share of rights & opportunities, but also kept caste system alive in our society & take its deep roots.

But now I have a different opinion about it . Recently I came across a piece of writing , in which it said that, it is only a reserved society & self-centered people who resist reservations.

Don’t get me wrong I am not still in favor of reservations  . But I have digested the fact that something has to be really done for the socially backward groups. And  quotas can’t really help them  or the society or these groups .

To uplift them & prevent their lives to turn from fog to endless night , what it is essential is provide them a strong foundation rather than to lead them to the darker end by giving them shot – term gain in form of reservations.

So, the moral of the story is that , they should be given proper – yielding – viable primary education. This is what , that can empower them to be at par or ahead of others &  shed off  the burden laid on them by the society.
